You have to face many such problems so don't panic easily. I have seen that in the blogging field, beginners get into serious tension whenever these is any problem related to blogging on the website.

Cause: The main reason for this problem is the customize blogger templates you use. There is a 90% chance that this problem is due to the customize blogger template you are using.

Now the question is- So can't we use a customize blogger template for this on our website?

If so, there will be many problems such as- 

  1. There will be a big problem- The chances of getting Google Adsense approval will decrease. because Google Adsense approval also depends on the theme of the website.
  2. You will never get Google Adsense approval using blogger's default templates or themes. For that you have to use customize templates.
  3. If you use default templates or themes, your website will look outdated. So you have to use customize templates.
  4. To make blogger website SEO friendly, you must use customize templates.
  5. There are some features that are not seen in the default templates, then customize templates are needed.
  6. The Ads from Google Adsense in customize templates look better than the default templates.

Again, if you use a customize template, there are some issues, such as (For free customize templates)-

  1. If you use a free template that has more design, more options, more unusual features then the loading speed of your website may be affected.
  2. These templates may contain more unused js and css codes which may affect website loading time.
  3. If you haven't bought a domain name then this customize blogger templates mainly increases the loading time of your website. 

What does more than one canonical tag mean?

        More than one canonical tag means that your website has more then one canonical tag which is            providing a canonical error.
        or,
        This means that the URL of canonical element specified in more than one location.

Why this issue is appeared?

        The reason for this problem is that the customize template that you are using in your blogger it has         a specific canonical tag that is in the Edit HTML section of your blogger theme and your HTML           <head> section has already have a canonical tag which is your website URL related. So in this way         more than one canonical tag is available in you blogger.
        Now you need to delete the canonical tag of that template. This is why canonical errors are                    coming.
        Deleting the canonical tag of these templates will resolve the error.

How to fix it?

Steps: Turn on your pc => Connect to internet => Open Chrome browser => Login your blogger account => Go to theme option => Go to Edit HTML => Click any where in the body code => Ctrl+F => Type rel = 'canonical' => Press Enter => Remove all canonical tags which is start with <link and ends with rel = 'canonical' /> => Read the line below**

*(Except for the canonical tag of the <head> section, which you have written yourself to look like-  <link href='https://URL of your website' rel='canonical'/>)*.

If you remove all canonical tags except your <head> section canonical tag than your multiple canonical tag issue is solved. It will give you more SEO friendly website.

Remember one more time:- Do not removed your <head> section canonical tag this canonical tag is a way of telling search engines that a specific URL represents the master copy of your page. Using the canonical tag prevents problems caused by identical or "duplicate" content appearing on multiple URLs.

If you removed your <head> section canonical tag than you have a issue (error) which is "Your content is a duplicate of another content". So don't delete <head section canonical tag>.
